It was indeed a proud moment for Seva Kendra Calcutta , when Rev Fr Anthony Rodrick the Director of SKC on 1.04.2024, inaugurated the 3 Hp Solar Water Pump, at Nazareth- the Farmers Training Center, at Balihati, West Midnapur, which was installed by SKC’s NRM Project , supported by Misereor, Germany. Total 40 staff and stakeholders were present at this auspicious occasion from SKC’s different projects implemented at West Midnapur, Jhargram and Bankura Districts.
Seva Kendra Calcutta is one the leading advocates of Climate Change mitigation and adaptation by pioneering solar technology through 400 rural women of West Midnapur and Jhargram districts. To install a solar pump is a local solution to mitigate the Global issue of ‘Climate Change’, as it does not produce air pollution or emit any greenhouse gas, when the pump is operating making it a complete ‘carbon free’ initiative.
